Hate running? This blog's for you...

I've run, on and off, for my whole life. Ok, let's be honest; it's been more off than on! I'm an overweight 35 year old male. I'm a dad, a husband and a business owner. And as you can probably guess, I'm a little short on time. So until recently, exercise didn't really get a look-in.
But I wasn't always fat and unfit. As recently as five years ago, I surfed, ran and cycled. I played soccer and volleyball. I did weights and indoor rock-climbing. I even climbed the Three Sisters (before you get too excited/offended, that's a unique rock formation in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney). I wasn't particularly good at any of those activities, but I had a lot of fun with 'em (except the Three Sisters - that was terrifying!!!), and I stayed pretty fit.
Before we had kids, I weighed around 93kg and was very lean (I'm 6'1"). Late 2007, I was 106.7kg, and counting...
So I decided it was time to do something about it. I decided to run again. With the kids a little older, I was able to squeeze a little more time out of each day, so I hopped on the treadmill. After a little while, I moved onto the road.
This blog outlines my progress and talks about a whole lot of running-related stuff. Everything from running prams to blisters, clothing to heart rate, diet to technology. Most importantly, this blog is for people who hate running. Because the single most important thing I've learned since I started running again is that it is EASY! In fact, it's so easy, I feel like I'm cheating. I feel like I shouldn't be losing weight, but I am. I shouldn't be getting fit, but I am. I shouldn't be getting faster, but - you guessed it - I am!
So if you hate running, or if you always find it really really hard, I reckon you'll find this blog very interesting. Maybe you'll even be inspired to lace up your runners and give it a try, yourself...
Cheers.
